I studied Information Systems Engineering before getting a job rolling out Windows 7 upgrades for Engen Petroleum Cape Town HQ employees over a few months. From there I progressed to Vodacom initially in Tech Support for around 2 years eventually moving to a jnr DBA position monitoring and reporting on hundreds of production Oracle Databases daily for another 2 years, finally I progressed to a Dev Ops position maintaining the Vodacom Operational Data Store application amongst other things for the last 2 years.
I recently decided to study Web Development and pursue a position as a Full Stack Developer. I am currently focusing on the MEAN stack (with AngularJS to gain more of an overall understanding before approaching other frameworks) and refining my knowledge of functional programming, JavaScript, NoSQL vs PL/SQL and RESTful APIs via courses offered by Pirple and Todd Motto's UltimateCourses. I will be including assignments from these courses as projects in this Portfolio including my own projects.
